(Posted by Cathy DuBois) In this next Blog of the series on our search for living in a more conscious way, I uncover more of the new agenda being pawned off on workers that, if allowed, will not only cause deep trauma but many other problems that have “unintended consequences.” Please read my prior Blogs to catch-up with this timely and fascinating discussion.  Since becoming more conscious means that we are noticing how we live, who we can trust, and how we have been effected by our choices, we need to understand this topic more deeply, because if you cannot identify a problem you have no hope of solving it.  So let’s get to it.

In a recent article “5 Ways to Promote Work Life Integration Among Your Employees” written by Staci Shepherd  for Employers and Managers, I found many reasons to be wary of the hidden agenda. Read my blog #10 for her introduction and article link.  Her next point is as follows:

    2.  Provide Training on How to Stay Engaged in A Healthy Way.

Ms. Shepherd is fully expecting her audience to buy into her ideas so far.  She wants Employers and Managers to work you day and night, and program you to embrace slavery as “work-life integration.”  But she is admitting here that even she can understand that people are going to “push-back” against this constant interference in what should be their “down” time. She states that this “Integration” idea is “not healthy when done in isolation.”  It could even “force employees lie to you” to get away at times. So employers need to recognize burnout and other mental health issues that will arise with this new way of working. She is happy that mental health awareness is increasing in the US.

Give employees ways of stepping away and make it a “hard and fast rule that vacation days are truly for vacation and days off will require some connectivity. We want employees to be refreshed and energized with good attitudes.”

My take on this slavery approach to work-life balance is still not printable. I understand  that Ms. Shepherd wants to get as much high octane out of the workforce as possible. That dream is not new. It is quite mind boggling to me that she is aware of mental health stresses (PTSD) caused by this program but thinks that those rare vacation days are going to take care of it.  She doesn’t mention when an overworked, over-stressed worker will be able to go see the therapist! Maybe all this extra working will make the company so rich they can on-board one full time!

When a person begins a job these days, they need to read all the fine print.  Even a better idea is to research the company and talk to an employee or two before the interview.  At the very least, ask how the company is managing their work-life integration, and take notes. Do they sound like they employ actual people?  As absurd as it sounds, this idea will not go away and you must learn to recognize it.

Another thing you can do is to post to social media about your work environment. That is so powerful. You can do it in a respectful but honest way.  Help your brothers and sisters out there who would otherwise walk into this type of situation and get blindsided.  These companies are out there and Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome is a real thing and bosses and company culture can and do create it.

I will explain more about item 2 that Ms. Shepherd talks about in my next blog.  Don’t miss it as this is really an interesting piece. Be sure and sign up with your email so you don’t miss a thing.

When you become conscious that this is actually a process and not a destination, each new revelation will be a challenge and not be so hard to process. If you would like me to help you navigate this passage you are making, please contact me and we can start a dialog.

If this is new to you, get educated.  But you better hurry up.     New energies are now flooding Gaia, our beautiful planet. They are also blessing us with the ability to quickly go beyond all that has been holding us back IF that is where we want to go. So please decide you want to be free to live in peace and contribute your love and light to all.

Please feel free to share this original work with others as it is written.

Thank you.
